A 21st birthday has a history or being a significant milestone in the United States. It is the age when a person is considered a fully vested adult. They can finally purchase any alcoholic beverages they wish. They are old enough to go into any bar or establishment. It is the last hurdle to having full adult benefits.
This accomplishment of adulthood means it is time to celebrate the person’s history. Most 21st celebrations are handled by the person’s friends. In the United States, it is traditional to go out clubbing or bar hopping. The birthday boy or girl starts the day with a trip to the local driver’s license agency. They get a new license that eliminates the state’s designation that the person was under 21 years old. Then it is out to celebrate! The first opportunity to flash that new ID, and prove they are old enough to go anywhere and do anything.
Throughout history friends have been responsible for assuring that the birthday person comes to no harm during their celebration. Some families have elaborate celebrations that involve trips to places such as Las Vegas or Atlantic City. Others enjoy the opportunity to take an exotic trip without the parents. However it is celebrated, there is usually a substantial celebration to be had.
Holding a 21st birthday celebration for a friend is not difficult to do. It usually involves a small group of six to eight close friends. The host will secure transportation. A limo is an excellent choice. The host will know that the limo is ready and waiting whenever the group wishes to move on to the next destination. It is also large enough that the whole group travels together, and the designated driver is taken care of. Start the party with a bottle of champagne in the limo and then off to dance away the night.
