Birthdays are times to celebrate the person making it through another year of life and all its pitfalls, a celebration of the person’s history. Celebrations vary from culture to culture, but most groups do have some type of annual birthday celebration. A 25th birthday party can be a perfect time to help a man or woman to celebrate their special day.
Choose an adult theme that reflects the personality of the guest of honor. A particular hobby or interest is an excellent place to start. Most people enjoy celebrating at a restaurant with friends and family. A vacation or weekend trip to a fun location would also be appreciated.
The song “Happy Birthday to You” was written by two sisters. It did not become widely popular until printed in a song book, in 1924. Birthday cards are attributed to the English. In early England if a person could not greet the birthday boy or girl in person they sent a card. The tradition is said to be over a hundred years old. Many of our most treasured traditions are cloaked in secrecy as to their beginnings.
The history of the birthday cake is widely disputed. Some claim the ancient Greeks started the tradition by giving yearly cakes to the Goddess Artemis. Another group claim the tradition comes from the Germans. They present the birthday boy or girl with sweet bread at their annual celebration. Wherever the tradition started the birthday cake is here to stay.
25th birthday parties can be lots of fun. It makes a terrific age to gather family and friends and celebrate. The passing of another year presents the opportunity to socialize and have fun. It is up to family and friends to recognize and plan the momentous event.
