The 30th anniversary is a newly acknowledged milestone of wedded bliss; a monument to a life spent together, one celebrated at a 30th anniversary party.
Before the 1930s, only the 25th and 50th wedding anniversaries were honored with public parties. Yet with time people finally began to acknowledge that any amount of time spent legally married was indeed a good thing!:)
Traditionally, pearl was the gift of choice for 30th anniversary parties. Now diamonds are the order of the day; when the 30th anniversary couple exchanges gifts, and when they accept presents from friends, co-workers and relatives who gather for their anniversary party, they might receive diamond jewelry (necklaces for the wife, diamond cuffs for the husband, rings for both), diamond miniatures, statues and other collectibles, commemorative 30th anniversary plates, etc. For those on a smaller budget, rhinestones could suffice.
In this age of escalating divorce rates, people are placing more significance on milestones such as the 30th anniversary. Many of these 30th anniversary festivities feature food, drinks both soft and hard, music, frivolity and good times. The host might bake a cake in the shape of the number “30,” and decorate the party room with shiny diamond-hued banners, flags, ribbons, confetti, and streamers.
When a couple spends three full decades together, especially in this day and age, it’s a definite cause for celebration. If a parent, sibling, boss or dear friend is about to celebrate this diamond milestone, then it’s time to plan the ultimate 30th anniversary party today.
