30th Anniversary Brazil-nut date cake.Brazil-nut date cake was the dessert that caught everyone's eye and it made the night for my best friends 30th anniversary big party with over 500 guests
3 Cups whole Brazil Nuts (1 pound shelled or 2 pounds unshelled)
1 pound whole dates, pitted
1 cup whole maraschino cherries, drained
3/4 cup sifted flour
3/4 cup cugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3 eggs, beaten
1 tsp vanilla
To shell the nuts easily, cover with cold water, bring to a boil, and boil
3 minutes. Drain and cover with cold water, then drain again. Crack and
remove whole nut.
DIRECTIONS: Put whole nuts, dates, and cherries into a large mixing bowl.
Sift over this the dry ingredients. Mix well until coated. Beat eggs
until foamy, add vanilla and stir into fruit mixture. Turn into a greased
and waxed paper lined pan (9 1/2 X 5 1/2 X 2 1/2). Spread evenly. The
pan will be full. Bake in slow oven (300 degrees) for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
The cake must be entirely cool before cutting. It will keep for a long time
if you can keep the fingers out of it. Wrap and store as with any fruit
cake.

| A FACE ONLY MAMA COULD LOVE: Each guest is asked to bring a baby picture of themselves. Upon arrival, the hostess takes the baby picture and arranges the picture onto a poster board. Under each picture, she assigns a number. Each guest gets a piece of paper and is told to match the adult guest name with the corresponding baby picture. example: Aunt Sue is baby number 3....etc. Each guest puts down all of their guesses and the guest with the most correct matches wins! This is a good ice breaker game. Don't forget to ask for the picture when you mail out the invitation! Lots more

30th Anniversary means 30 years of rock solid relationship, and knowing the recipes for LOVE that will endure the test of time. To commemorate those years of friendship and love, there needs to be an awesome event planning. This planning must be done about a month to two months before and that should entail planning different aspects to make the party a success. There are a lot of parts that need your creative thinking, and one such area is the selection of menu, which you know would rock the party.
Before you sit down and think of what kind of foods you can make for your 30th Anniversary, it is important here to mention that you can just do that by jotting down the traditional foods that you make the best and once you are done of that, you need to see whether you want to try them or would like to try something new. Once you have made your mind to try something new, then you can look for the different recipes and try them out. It would be nice if your meal is a three course meal, starting with an appetizer, main course and dessert.
For the 30th Anniversary, the different recipes that can be tried as an appetizer include Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips. The main course would be Baked Garlic Thyme Chicken, Macaroni and Cheese, and Honey Dijon Spinach Salad. And the Dessert would be Raspberry Cookies. Let us take a quick look on how you can make the Baked Garlic Thyme Chicken. You will need 1/4 cup of softened unsalted butter, 2 scallions chopped, 2 minced cloves of garlic, 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of dried thyme leaves, 2-1/4 lbs. of whole chicken, which is rinsed and patted dry.
Preheat the oven to about 350 degrees. Combine all the ingredients except the chicken. Now spread the seasoned butter and other ingredients over the chicken and place the chicken in the oven, breast down, for about 35 minutes.
