Handmade 40th Birthday Party Favors

Homemade party favors for a 40th birthday party will please the guests and save the party host a few dollars as well. Handmade party favors can be anything from cookies, homemade wine labels, humorous t-shirts poking fun at the celebrant’s age, bag full of candies, and customized photo frames. The theme of the party will play a role in the types of party favors given to guests. While someone who is turning 40 may not prefer a theme, there are individuals who still want lavish celebrations with theme party supplies, decorations, and party favors. Additional party favors for a 40th birthday party include homemade votive candles made with olive oil for each party guest. Cut a piece of 8-inch, non-insulated copper wire with wire snips for the wick holder. Wind the piece of wire around a matchstick with 3 to 3 1/2 inches of wire left. Then, make one big loop and cut a piece of cotton string about 2 1/2 inches long for the wick. Set the copper wire wick holder in the center of the tea light candleholder. Insert the wick into the wick holder so it sticks out 1/8 or so. Fill the candleholder with olive oil so that the olive oil comes up just under where the wick protrudes from the wick holder. Fill it with enough olive oil to come up just under where the wick protrudes from the wick holder. The olive oil will be absorbed by the wick and the flame will last until the olive oil is done.
