Face it, few people are exactly overjoyed to be turning 40; yet any 40th birthday party can be enlivened with some fun handmade games; activities that will make 40 seem fabulous to the guest of honor and guests alike.
In the homemade game Forty and Fabulous, a game that can be enjoyed at any 40th birthday bash, guests can stand in a circle and pass around a ball or bean bag emblazoned with the number 40. As each guest catches the ball, he/she could spout a clichéd phrase about the experience of getting older. These could include “With age comes wisdom,” “Forty is Fabulous,” “You age like fine wine,” “Older is better,” etc. The guest of honor could decide who among the guest delivers the Best, Cheesiest, Sweetest and Most Annoying phrases. Another handmade game that could be enjoyed at a 40th birthday party is 40 Flashdance; a light-hearted dancing match in which each guest can demonstrate their silliest moves, putting on a delightfully uncoordinated show for the guest of honor. As in the last game, the guest could choose winners in various categories (Best Dancer, Worst Dancer, Most Creative, Funniest, etc.), awarding prizes to each.
