Handmade 70s Pinatas

A homemade piñata designed to look like a disco ball will be a great addition to any 70’s style party. What adds to the element of surprise is that some of the guests in attendance may not even realize that the disco ball is a piñata at all.

To begin making the handmade piñata you will need to first assemble the following supplies: plastic mirrors, glue, large round piñata, and silver spray paint. Once these are rounded up you are ready to begin.

The first step in creating this homemade piñata disco ball is to take the silver spray paint and spray the entire large piñata. Once this is finished allow the ball to dry for several hours before moving on to the next step.

Once your handmade piñata is dry you are ready to begin applying the mirrors. To do these apply glue to the backs of the mirrors. Beginning at the top of the piñata place the mirrors in straight rows clear to the bottom center. These plastic mirrors can actually be found in bulk at any local craft store in the area. Also when doing this step, be sure that you are only using regular household white glue. Continue applying the mirrors to the piñata until the entire surface is covered. Once this is done allow the piñata to dry for several hours.

Once your handmade piñata is finished it can be placed anywhere. The best place however would be over a makeshift dance floor.
