As we get farther and farther from the days of the 90s where big hair was cool, bright colored clothes and punk music we see more and more of our kids sporting these outfits for Halloween or other events. So what do you do when your teen comes home and says they are having a school dance as the 90s as their main theme and they are wanting parents who grew up during that stage to come in and help with the décor, and to help get the facts straight. Sure you want to be involved, that was only 20 years ago, and you remember wearing your hair tall with tons of aerosol hair spray to help, listening to loud music, and MC hammer was todays Nelly. There are so many great moments in history that are intertwined with the 90s. Great moments in history such as the Berlin wall coming down, and Busch was president of the United States.
So when you go in and help planning the party, suggest using some of the great 90s music, as an accompaniment to a slide show that can be displayed on one wall with pictures of all of the great moments in history, specifically the 90s. This is a great time to get involved with your kids, if it is a school event, fundraiser, church function or whatever the case may be, the 90s offer several great party theme ideas, find something in history related to the 90s that you were interested in and use that.
