Have crazy Thanksgiving
Parties with a
American Hero
Theme Party.
Enjoy the American Hero
party by adding an
educational
learning
experience.
A festive
party can be had with an
educational twist.
An American Hero birthday party can become educational by basing activities on the real heroes that have lived and died defending the country. While doing educational activities have the kids be in costume wearing Camo Gear. Try teaching the kids about these real American Heroes with some fun crosswords and word scrambles for them to play with, plus a short description at the bottom of a famous American Hero. One such hero is Sergeant York, a well known hero who fought during World War I.
There was even a movie made based on the life and actions of the legendary Sergeant York. His actions and bravery during an attempt by his platoon to take over a railroad held by German troops in France allowed his platoon to capture more than 132 men and win the battle. York alone shot 25 German soldiers during that battle and disabled 35 machine guns.
Depending on how old the guests at your party will be you can also play the original movie simply called “Sergeant York”. It’s a good movie show a true American Here, but has all the violence of war and doesn’t exactly stay true to the story of how Sergeant York actually defeated the enemy soldiers.
You can also get the kids and guests coming to your American Hero birthday party to dress up as their favorite American Heroes or in Camo Gear. If you want to stick with the Sergeant York theme, tell them they’ll be dressing up as different military figures or just throwing on a uniform for the party. The kids will have lots of fun asking each other what costumes and periods they are dressing up for at the American Hero party.
