Homemade Animal Piñatas come across as a traditional décor or adornment for the birthday party of kids. Children love animals and have a favorite animal always, so making animal piñatas of that of cats, dogs, monkeys, cows and pigs would be simply great.
Generally, for handmade animal piñatas, things required could be easily found in and around the house. Though piñatas are bit messy to be prepared and does take a few days, but quite easy that a child can do. These are also one of the most ideal and creative projects that parents can do with the child, while planning for a birthday party. On the day of the party, the animal piñatas can be filled with different treats and children can take turns in breaking them open.
Arrange for three round latex balloons for the homemade animal piñatas, one of 18-inches and two of 5-inches, along with a masking tape, newspaper, flour, water, tissue paper, glue, pencil, eraser and a craft brush. Inflate all balloons and knot them. Put a tape on 5-inches balloons together on either sides and then with the front of the 18-inches balloon. Smaller balloons can be used as the chosen animal’s nose. Then make a soupy paste of one part of flour with two parts of water free from any clumps. Tear the newspapers and make strips out of them to cover balloons, overlapping the paper alongside. Multiple newspaper layers would make the piñata strong enough for holding the candies. Dip the strips into the paste and then make them lay flat on the balloons leaving a small hole to fill in with candies. Let this dry overnight. Once dried up, make the eyes, nose, mouth, whiskers and other features of the animal. The animal piñatas are ready!
