To truly fly high at an Atlanta Falcons party, the host should know more than her fair share of fantastic Falcons trivia!
Perhaps the easiest and most obvious bit of Falcons trivia revolves around its logo and namesake; the beautiful and regal creature known as the falcon. The team also is distinguished by its lovely signature colors of red and black.
Among the most popular and talented players performing on the current Falcons rosters are Roddy White, Julio Jones, Ray Edwards, Mike Smith, Eric Reems and Matt Ryan. Also popular are the famous and beautiful Atlanta Falcoms Cheerleaders, who help to host the team’s Youth Weekend activities for the younger set.
Rankin Smith founded the Atlanta Falcons in 1966. He paid the highest price in NFL history for the team, which plays at the Georgia Dome. In 1992, this impressive building was also the site of the Olympic games. The Falcons made it to the Super Bowl in 1999, when they lost to the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXXIII. The team’s most successful season, however, was in 1998, when the Falcons scored a team record of 16 wins. The Atlanta Falcons set another team record in 1973, when it beat New Orleans by 55 points—its highest margin of victory. And the team’s longest game played clocked in at more than four hours.
