Guessing the tummy size of the mom to be is always a great homemade baby shower party game. Each guest is given a measuring tape, in turn. They try to guess the size of the pregnant woman’s belly just by looking at the tape, and then they write down their guess and hide it, passing the measuring tape on to the next person to guess. When each party guest has made a guess and written their guesses down, the real size is revealed. The pregnant woman’s tummy is measured and the answer is told. The one who is the closest wins. This can really be hysterical, because it is very difficult to guess the circumference of the belly by just looking at the measuring tape.
The guessing game about how many beans is a popular handmade baby shower game, as well. Just have your guests guess how many items are in a jar, except that you will be using safety pins. Place a bunch of safety pins in a jar, and during the party each guest will have an opportunity to guess how many pins are in there. They can write down their answers on a plain sheet of paper near the pins, or their answers can be concealed in a box that holds the answers, until the end of the party. The one who has guessed closest to the right amount of safety pins in the jar wins a prize.
Another popular homemade baby shower game also has to do with safety pins. The bigger and more colorful they are, the better for this game. Whenever someone says the word baby, another points it out. The first to point out the fact that someone said the word baby gets a safety pin placed on her collar, or blouse, or sleeve. At the end of the party, there may be someone wearing all of the safety pins, and they are the winner.
