Baltimore Ravens Party Conversation Ideas

Appropriately named for a bird that is known for its strength, beauty and mystery, the Baltimore Ravens won Super Bowl XXXV in 2000 and is renowned for its many championship wins.

The Baltimore Ravens are further defined by the team’s signature colors, purple, black and dark blue, and for the presence of popular players such as Randy Rice. What some people may not know, however, is that the Ravens are a fairly young team established in 1996; after the previously named Baltimore Colts relocated to Indianapolis. The legendary Ted Marchibroda was the team’s first head coach. The name Ravens was chosen due to the results of a Baltimore Sun telephone poll, and the Ravens’ debut regular season game was played before a massive crowd 64,124 fans at Memorial Stadium; this was registered as the largest crowd in Baltimore’s professional sports history. Also during their inaugural season, the team sold out attendance for all 10 home games.

In 1998, the Ravens got a new and very impressive home. The new NFL Stadium at Camden Yards (later given the name of PSINet Stadium) was opened in grand fashion with a musical performance by Stevie Wonder with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Then the team managed to set two NFL records later that year. The Ravens and Minnesota Vikings set an NFL record with three KORs for touchdowns, all in the first quarter. Ravens Corey Harris and Patrick Johnson and Minnesota's David Palmer all scored touchdowns on returns in the Vikings' 38-28 win. Additionally, Gary Anderson set an NFL record when he kicked his 34th straight successful FG.
