Basketball Costume

If your son has been asking for a basketball themed party for his next birthday then here’s an idea – make it a double whammy by asking everyone to show up in costume. As they all come together and share their love for the sport the kids can dress up as their favorite players from the NBA or maybe even from television and movies.

Little boys adore the character of Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story and it would make a great homemade costume for the basketball party as well. You can make one at home for your son as well. First dress him up in a T-shirt and white tights. Then build the suit with cardboard. This includes an armor to be worn on the chest, bell shaped leggings and matching sleeves. And don’t forget the head dress in deep blue.

If your son loves to play pirates then you can dress him up as a little buccaneer for the basketball costume party. This is a very easy homemade costume to put together and consists of black and red striped pants worn under a deep red shirt with golden buttons. Also you could accessorize it with a brown jacket with a matching pair of brown boots. For effect sew on a lace with a skull motif along the edge of the jacket and also use it as a bandana of sorts by tying it around his forehead. Once you are done your son would have instantly turned into a bona fide pirate all set to dare the seven seas.
