When throwing a barbeque, it’s always great to have on hand some homemade BBQ cookies. A fun recipe would be to take an ordinary Oreo cookie and deep-fry it. This is a great way to make a sweet dessert even better! It only takes a few minutes and some vegetable oil, and your guests will think you’re crazy at first, but they will love them.
Another idea for homemade BBQ cookies is to make a batch from scratch. A very simple recipe for this is Brown Sugar Cookies. For a large batch, you will need 7 cups of flour, 4 cups of brown sugar, a tablespoon of baking soda, one cup of melted butter, a tablespoon of cream of tartar, and 4 eggs. Mix them all together well, and form the dough into a roll. Put the roll of dough into the refrigerator for one hour. It should set nicely.
To complete your homemade BBQ cookies recipe, just slice the roll into thin cookies, and bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes, or until they are lightly browned. And there you have it!
For a summertime treat, your homemade BBQ cookies can be topped off with powdered sugar, or cake glitter. You can even use colored frosting in different colors, or personalize your cookies that way by putting kids’ names on them. Use your imagination, because there are many cake and cookie toppings that you can choose from or make yourself. They can even be made into faces, with red hots candies for the eyes. Your guests will just love your homemade treats! |
