It’s always a good idea to focus on the greatness of the birthday girl or boy at their birthday party. No matter how old he or she is, they’ve gone a long way on this journey to get there. In the case that they are older, it’s best not to dwell on the age itself, but rather on the accomplishments they have achieved.
Past the age of 25, the conversation at a birthday party should center on the youth of the birthday guest of honor. They may be upset by how quickly the years are flying by. And if you are older than they are, you know that the older you get, the quicker they fly, however, this is probably not the time to let them know that. You want them to have a great time at their birthday event and not think about their older years to come.
The conversation when celebrating a teenager’s birthday, however, can focus on the future. There should be encouragement to go on to become a great adult, person, and achiever. If they have a certain interest, the focus might be on what they might want to accomplish using this interest.
An elderly person might not want to focus on their age at all during a birthday conversation, but it really depends on the person. Some older people feel proud and fortunate that they have been healthy and able to live their lives into old age, and they are not bothered by it. Most women, on the other hand, are more vain, and would probably not want to give away their exact age and let people guess.
