Bob the Builder is a construction themed kids show, that aims to introduce children to the standard friendship and learning concepts, as well as the addition of a few basic engineering concepts. So of course, the key color your theme should have is yellow, the color of construction equipment. Any toy construction equipment you happen to have on hand would go great with this theme, as well as anything similar to stacks of lumber, or most any of what you’d see around actually construction. Just make sure that you don’t include anything dangerous like actual tools unless you’re certain that nothing will happen.
Bob the Builder’s party menu should include lots of manly food items for your growing little construction workers. Try cooking up a BBQ party with a Bob the Builder theme. Throw a few kid favorites on the grill like hotdogs and hamburgers. Some kids may also like a couple pieces of chicken. While you’re at it you might try a few grilled veggies to introduce the kids to great tasting healthy treats. Grilled peppers, corn, eggplant and onions are some simple ideas. When everything’s done make up a Bob the Builder’s Monster Dog for the kids who are game, with ketchup, mustard, grilled onions and peppers, a little relish, and chili sauce if you like.
A great grilled veggie is easy to make for the Bob the Builder party. Remember to clean off your grill thoroughly because you’ll want some nice grill marks on your veggies. Be careful when using that grill brush! Its’ bristles can come out on the grill and are painful to accidentally bite into. You can also use a grill pan inside on the stove to create great grill marks and it’s a little safer. Wash your veggies and slice them about an eighth of an inch thick. Butter or oil on both sides and coat with some salt and pepper and a little cayenne if you like some spice. Then pop on the grill and leave it alone. When there are nice grill marks on the underside flip the veggies over and cook the rest of the way on the other side.
One thing you may wish to keep in mind when planning such a party is that someone will have to clean up afterwards, and most likely that someone is you. You will most definitely need to purchase disposable plates, napkins, cups, table covers, place mats, utensils and the like. A good many of which can be obtained with a Bob the Builder them on them.
