COOKIES

Your book party will be much more fun with homemade book party cookies. For this recipe, you must first make sure that none of your party goers are allergic to nuts, as these cookies are made with pecans.
To prepare your homemade book party cookies, you will need a few ingredients. They are ½ cup of shortening, one cup of brown sugar, two eggs, 4 tablespoons of flour, ½ cup chopped pecans, ½ teaspoons of sale, and ½ teaspoon of maple extract. Just cream the shortening and sugar together. Then add the eggs one by one, beating after each egg is added. Stir in the flour and blend it in well. Then add the nuts, salt and maple extract to the mix.
These homemade book party cookies will be dropped, so the consistency should be firm, but not too firm. Grease a baking pan, and drop by teaspoons about five inches apart, as they will spread a bit. Spread out each cookie with the spoon until they are thin, and bake them in a slow oven, at 300 degrees, for about 10 to 12 minutes. When they are done, you can leave them flat, or while they are still warm, you can turn them around your finger to form rolls. This recipe should make about 36 wafers.
These homemade book party cookies are an excellent choice, while your guests pick and choose, and read their favorite books. On a very warm day, you might want to stuff the rolled up cookies with a bit of ice cream to add to the fun.
