Bowling is a good, family-friendly sport that allows friends, families and co-workers to get together and ‘have a ball’ at the bowling alley; what better sport to inspire a festive party, not to mention some great movies one can show at this party.

Unless the host wants angry guests to ‘strike,’ he/she had better show the following movies at the bowling party:

Kingpin—directed by Bobby and Peter Farrelly, starring Woody Harrelson, Vanessa Angel, Randy Quaid, Bill Murray
The Big Lebowski—directed by Joel and Ethan Cohen, starring Jeff Bridges, John Goodman
Alley Cats Strike—directed by Rod Daniel, starring Kyle Schmid, Kaley Cuoco
The Bowling Alley-Cat—directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, starring Tom and Jerry (animated feature)
Bowling Alley—a 1903 feature, little director or cast information available, but the film is a real hoot guests will enjoy
Pin Gods—an award-winning bowling documentary directed by Larry Locke, starring Anton Pavelchak, Tony Rosamilia
Yet quality films are only one component of a bowling party that really rocks; a selection of great theme-related party supplies are also required to make one’s party a true success. These could include an elaborate, colorful and realistic looking scene setter that resembles a bowling alley or perhaps a single lane, paper mache pins that hang from the ceiling (the host even could fashion a ‘pin’ata); plastic, rubber and paper bowling balls that could be strewn throughout the party area, then taken home later as fun take home party favors; a plastic, carved or paper mache centerpiece that resembles a set of pins or an oversized bowling ball; drinking mugs and popcorn bowls that resemble hollowed out bowling balls; and perhaps tall drinking glasses in the shape of bowling pins.

‘Strike out’ the blahs with a great bowling party; one that ‘scores’ big with bowling enthusiasts.
