Homemade
Brunch Costume
Designing a costume theme party around a brunch can be a great way to not only have a fantastic dining experience but also enjoy the company of fellow costume enthusiasts. The good news is that it really doesn't take much in the way of pieces to assemble a nice homemade costume for such an event, either. Themes for a brunch costume party, as well, are extremely easy to dream up. For example, just about anything that has to do with history , food and what happens when the two collide makes for excellent fodder for costume and theme ideas.
A brunch can make for a good excuse to have, for example, a dining event centered on some of the great documented feasts in history. Of course, a homemade costume for such a feast would have to be in keeping with the era in which the feast occurred, but with the Internet all things are possible, so to speak. What
this means is that a brunch event that's in keeping with Gilded Age (mid-to-late 19th century America) styles and fashions could be a great excuse to create a very nice homemade costume, for one.
The Gilded Age was a time of great wealth and an extravagant manner of formal dress, both for men and women. Having a two or three-hour brunch event that's nicely catered and in which the attendees come dressed in an idealized version of the finery people once wore could be memorable, at least. And with the Internet
on hand to provide not only patterns but also suggested places where components for such wear could be found (thrift stores are always great candidates), putting
together a costume will be extremely easy.
