In 1993, the Carolina Panthers with their panther blue and black d�cor received the 29th NFL(National Football League) franchise in history and the first new team to join the league since 1976. The team itself plays its home games in the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC. Although they have had many wins over the years, they have only had one Super Bowl appearance and that was in Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2004.

The official mascot of the Carolina Panthers is Sir Purr. He is a panther that dresses in a traditional Panthers football jersey with the number 00. Carolina Panther fans are also known for their use of the famous, �Growl Towel.� This towel is slung around through the air during the football games. Although they are a relatively young team, they have started their own traditions and are building history throughout the Carolinas and particularly in Charlotte, North Carolina. They played their first season in Clemson Stadium and later moved their team to the Bank of America Stadium to continue making NFL football history.
