Homemade Cat in the Hat Party Game

Cat is not the cat in the hat without the hat so cutout the hat using construction paper and a picture of the cat for an easy homemade Cat in the Hat party game.

In honor of The Fish's Tale throw orange bean bags in a fish bowl for a simple Cat in the Hat homemade party game. Set up 3-4 fish bowls a foot or so apart and see how many bean bags the players can make out of a certain number of tosses. Award points based on the distance of the bowls from the throw line. For example, 1 point for the closest bowl while 5 points for furthest bowl.

Thing 1 and Thing 2 relay races provide some much needed exercise for children in this fun Cat in the Hat homemade party game. Designate Thing 1 and Thing 2 with blue beaded necklaces for Thing 1 and red beaded necklaces for Thing 2 or vice versa. Team start at the starting line and on go they must race to the of the party area and pop three balloons each on a chair by sitting on the balloons. The teams then race back and tag their team member. The first team to pop all the balloons are the winners.

Dr. Seuss’s Sleep Book can also turn into a fun Cat in the Hat homemade party game for children. The game begins with someone pretending to be asleep on his or her side in the center of the play area. The other players walk around him or her while the music is playing. Once the music stops the person sleeping must get up and try to tag one of the players as they run to the safe in the corners of the party area. If a player is tagged they are eliminated. The game continues until only one person remains.
