Handmade Cats Kittens Party Favors

Handmade party favors are a one of a kind opportunity to give guests something a little unexpected. A cat & kittens themed party is a great opportunity to show off some baking skills. Even for those that do not have any skill baking can create these easy cat & kitten handmade cupcakes.

Start off with a basic recipe for chocolate or vanilla cupcakes. When finished baking and cooling, it is them time to decorate them.

What is Needed:

Frosting: Whichever color the cat or kitten will be
Marshmallows: one per cupcake
Mini M&M’s: Various colors
Chocolate sprinkles
Jelly Bean: Pink or red; one per cupcake
Scissors

Ice the top of the cupcake in the colored frosting that was chosen. For the cats face, it is easiest to start with the ears so there is something to go by as far as design and placement of other items. To make the ears, first cut the marshmallow in half. Next, pinch the top of the marshmallow together and trim the sides so they look like triangles. In order to get the darker color in the center of the ears, dip the sticky side of the marshmallow in the chocolate sprinkles. Finally, place the marshmallows on top of the cupcake with one on the left and one on the right. Be sure to leave a little space in between them.

Next, take two of the same color M&M’s and use them for eyes. Add the jelly bean nose bellow and use 3 chocolate sprinkles on each side for the whiskers. These cute homemade party favors will be a big hit with guests attending a cat & kitten party because they look great and taste great too!
