Celebrate Chinese New Year with a fun party for children complete with plenty homemade party games, decorations, and party supplies. Keeping children engaged and entertained is a high priority for all party hosts. One way to do this is by introducing various Chinese New Year games that are challenging but fun.
The Chopsticks Game homemade game can be played for Chinese New year or at the players leisure. Spilt the children into two teams, chopsticks, and each child or team will need two bowls and a number of marbles, marshmallows, pebbles or something small. Each child must pick up one of their objects, using only his chopsticks, and carry it to the empty bowl placed a few feet apart from the bowl with the objects. When one player returns with the object at the empty bowl, the other team member walks to the bowl with the objects and selects an object. He then returns for the next object, and so on until he has moved all his objects safely across and is the winner. The game continues until all the objects are moved from one bowl to another.
Catching Seven Pieces is a fun Chinese New Year handmade game in which 7 small inch-square bags filled with beans or rice are needed to begin. Children sit or stand around a table and hold all seven pieces in one hand. Drop them onto the surface and spread them out so that the pieces are not touching not too distant from each other. Pick one of the pieces up and toss it in the air, grabbing another piece from the surface with the same hand before catching the original piece before it falls back to the surface. Still holding two pieces, throw one up in the air, grab another from the table, and catch the air-bound piece again. Continue until all seven pieces are in hand. If one of the pieces falls, the air-bound piece falls back onto the surface, or pieces not being touched or moved then the player passes to the next player.
