I hope you dance - Lee Ann Womack

You'll Be In My Heart - Phil Collins
I don't wanna miss a thing - Aerosmith
My Wish - Rascall Flats

Lullabye - Billy Joel
When You dream - Barenaked Ladies
Lullaby - Dixie Chicks
Godspeed-Dixie Chicks

Most of these songs will work for a boy or a girl. A christening song list should be full of music that is inspiring and uplifting. It is a time to create memories and a time for the child and the parents to create a special bond with one another and a higher being.

If nothing else, the playlist should be one of the number one priorities when assembling party supplies. No matter what type of party a person is having, music is one of the staples. It is what holds a party together, keeps it going and what caps the party off. Without music, a party is fairly staid. Creative idea: Matching or contrasting color decor items such as plates and cups will work for any theme ideas. If you specify the type of clothing for a social event like summer causal, give a few examples of what is acceptable and more importantly what isn't. When all is said and done, favors given to those guests who were able to attend will both feel appreciated and be reminded of the day whenever they look at that favor.

A Christening is a very special time for homemade party supplies and party goods such as homemade candles, costume jewelry, balloon bouquets and handmade gift baskets. As with most special occasions, a Christening is a special time for families and homemade party supplies such as candles and gift baskets are a great addition to the Christening. Homemade Christening candles in a variety of scents and sizes, along with Christening gift baskets are both easy to prepare for a Christening.

Prior to making the handmade Christening candles and gift baskets, review pictures of Christening gift baskets and decide on the type of candles and gift baskets that will be handmade. Then determine how many homemade candles and gift baskets will be needed. At this point, decide on other homemade party supplies for the Christening such as paper streamers, flags and banners. Then decide on other Christening supplies such as paper plates, cups and napkins to make your party complete. Most of the handmade party supplies can also be personalized for the Christening. This simple detail can be a nice addition to the Christening event.

Homemade party supplies and party goods, along with the christening of a child will make the day very special for everyone involved.

Create a Christening theme cake by incorporating some of the most notable symbols of the occasion. Starting with the base of the cake, many details can be added to create a Christening cake that is beautiful, memorable and delicious. Adding matching party supplies around the cake will also help enhance its appeal and pull together the celebration as a whole.

The base of the cake can be formed in the shape of a cross. This can be done first by baking a rectangular shaped cake, or two, depending on how large the cake needs to be. When fully baked and cooled, cut the cake in half. Lay one piece vertically in the center of the cake board. Next, cut the other half in half again. Place one half on the left side of the cake and the other on the right. Be sure to add these pieces slightly higher than the center of the cake so it looks like a cross.

To finish the cake off, ice it and decorate it. The icing color can be white, pink or blue depending on your preference. Often times people will decorate their Christening cake in white icing and then add details in blue for a boy and pink for a girl. Flowers, patterns and images can all be translated on this theme cake.

After youíve gone to the church to have the babyís christening ceremony itís customary to celebrate with a small party at home or at some other business. You can usually find a place for the party that is suitable but that doesnít mean youíll have an easy time figuring out what kind of decoration is suitable for the party. Since itís a religious event that you are celebrating you may wish to have a more dignified atmosphere at the party.

A brunch party can often be a good idea and a great way to relax before or after the baptism ceremony. The food served at the brunch is light and easy on the stomach, plus you can make up much of the food beforehand and serve it slightly chilled at the party. A white wine can also be served at the brunch.

The color theme can be just about anything you want to use, but its traditional that the baby wear a white christening gown so you may want to use white streamers, balloons, plates and napkins with just a light accent of gold trim or yellow trim. A popular theme to use at religious events is doves, and bibles and even crosses. So you may want to pick up some wall hangings of doves and crosses. Candles can add to the atmosphere of your brunch party, especially if you light theme and place them on a buffet where guests can serve themselves.

Good party favors to give as gifts at this First Communion party are usually personal keepsakes that the friends and family can use to help them remember the special event. A small picture frame with a picture of the baby set in it can be an excellent and inexpensive gift to give. You can also give the gift of a white vanilla scented candle to the guests.

Christening History, Facts and Educational Resources

Add an educational twist to any birthday party, holiday celebration, or theme party.  Share the history of the Christening theme to the guests.  Play some free printable educational party games.  Shhh don't tell the kids that they are learning!

To christen means to bring to Christ. A Christening ceremony, usually performed on an infant, brings a child into a church and officially ďnamesĒ the child in the eyes of the church.

Through the years different churches offer many variations on this sacred ceremony. Some Christenings involve rites of Baptism (which typically involves the sprinkling or immersion of water), while others involve a blessing and official naming of the child. Others involve a combination of the three. This ritual represents a purification and introduction to the church, though it does not automatically make someone a Christian.

Just as diverse as individual Christening ceremonies are the parties that follow them; these, too, have changed over time. For while itís likely that Christening parties will always be warm, meaningful gatherings involving friends, family members, and fellow/sister churchgoers, either at a private home, a church reception hall, or at a restaurant or rented community hall, the place and presents involved in this festivity have varied slightly through the years.

Christening gowns, once handmade, are now available at clothing stores or even online. And while a traditional Christening gift might be a Bible or a handmade cross or jewelry, a modern present might consist of a religious figurine (depicting, perhaps, a child with a cross), cross necklaces, or perhaps a picture frame emblazoned with a religious saying or Psalm. All of these are available online or at gift shops, and of course at religious stores.

Regardless of the gifts given at a Christening, the deep significance of this ritual remains true and constant, from generation to generation. Plan a Christening Party today! Plan ahead by including at start time for the day and if needed include a reasonable end time as well. Don't wait until the last minute to set up for a celebration, you will be hurried and stressed by the time the guests start to arrive. Plan ahead by including at start time for the day and if needed include a reasonable end time as well. The history of Christening has different interpretations by each person, so use your own judgement. Share these facts with friends at a celebration.
