A clambake with homemade party supplies and handmade party goods can be a lot of fun. A clambake is a very festive occasion with drink umbrellas and fashion jewelry. Most often, a clambake occurs in the summer and near the water this makes it the perfect time for homemade summer party supplies. The homemade party supplies for this event can vary depending on the location.

A clambake is the perfect occasion for handmade party supplies which include banners, flags and centerpieces. A homemade clambake cooking apron is a great item to make prior to the clambake. This apron will be worn during the Clambake festivities and will bring a lot of conversation to the clambake itself.

Other homemade clambake party supplies include banners and signs depicting information about the clambake. Making a homemade clambake banner is not as hard as it sounds. First of all, the banner can be created on paper or it can be made with material. Either way is acceptable, a homemade banner is made out of material (such as a sheet, tablecloth or curtain) will last much longer. The banner can be adorned with fabric paint and more often than not, will compare to others that have been used in the past. Making this homemade banner very durable and long lasting will add a personal touch to the party.

Clambake theme cake and party supplies are always a fun way to add excitement to the outdoor event! In keeping with the theme, a clambake cake should be fun and light-hearted.

Circular clambake cake – taking 3 8 inch round cakes, stack them upon each other with a layer of icing in between. Ice the complete cake with grey icing and let it harden. Next, take white icing and splatter some on top of the circular cake. This will mimic steam. When the desired look is accomplished, let it harden as well. Finally, take some blue spray color (edible) and lightly spritz the white on top. Add fake clams all along the top as if they are being cooked.

Rectangular clambake cake – In the center or a rectangular cake, after being iced, create a round filled in circle with black, brown or grey icing. Add in clams as described above. On the surrounding area, add light brown sugar for a sand look or pipe in some green grass if wanting it to look like a backyard clambake.

Get creative and have fun with the clambake cake design! It is easy to structure as long as you have the clams!

The Clambake party is a fun event to put together for your friends and family because it focuses around food and its fun. The clambake in itself is entertainment enough to keep guests occupied and will certainly create lots of fun memories to look fondly upon in later years. There are also plenty of other kinds of entertainment to be found at a clambake. Since it's on the beach guests can go swimming, play beach volleyball, build sandcastles or just sit in the sun and get a good tan.

When decorating for the clambake make sure you bring along clips or tape to hold down the party supplies because this party will more than likely be outdoors. You will need four clips to hold down that checkered or clambake themed tablecloth and the guests will need to have a good grip on their paper plates and cups, at least until they are filled with cooked clams. Streamers are fun to add to the party area but you should wrap them around table legs and poles rather than taping them up in a half shelf pattern because it will leave them free to get caught up in the wind. Great colors for this party theme are red, gray, and blue, perfect for a nautical or Bon Voyage theme.

The clambake party truly is a great party to have for someone's pool party event, especially if they will be headed to locales with lots of sun and sand. It will give the guests a taste of the fun the guest of honor will be having on his or her trip. A Bon Voyage Banner firmly placed on a wall or other visible section of the party area can add a lot to the atmosphere. Plus you can customize it to your event and make it even more special.

Clambake History, Facts and Educational Resources

A timeless festivity of fun and seafood, hosted in New England, Ohio, and other places throughout the world, the Clambake is a foodie festivity with a rich history.

The first unofficial clambakes probably were celebrated in ancient civilizations, when hunting, gathering and fishing tribes ate and partied together. Those tribes who lived near the water, such as the Paleo-Indians, were likely to kill and eat their own seafood. And seafood is the food of choice at any Clambake, where ardent chefs serve, not only clams, as the name of the festivity would suggest, but mussels, crabs, and steamers, supplemented by a variety of vegetables; after all, nothing can beat a steaming hot bowl of that famous New England clam chowder!

Through the years clambakes have become in many cases the ultimate beach party along the shores of New England. After all, a clam dish can be prepared with seaweed and stones as cooking utensils; though modern cookware makes the task far easier, enabling hosts to hold clambakes across the country, even in the privacy of their own homes. People at clambake parties enjoy a variety of fresh and professionally prepared seafood plus wine, spirits, sodas and rich desserts. And aside from edible treats, guests at these events may also enjoy music and dancing, games and good conversation.

This festivity was immortalized in the 1967 Elvis Presley film titled (appropriately enough) “Clambake.” More modern clambakes are full-scale community events people anticipate throughout the year. Sometimes clambakes benefit local and national nonprofit groups, and some feature live entertainment that ranges from clam eating contests to live music to campfire singalongs.

While the character, purpose and location of clambakes have evolved over time, this seafaring festivity always guarantees fun beside the sea. Plan a Clambake today! The right favors given to the guests will allow them to remember that day many years from now. Never underestimate the power of a clear glass bowl; fill it with flowers, or glass marbles, or seashells, or candy or chips, or make it a dish garden centerpiece or put holiday ornaments in it. The right favors given to the guests will allow them to remember that day many years from now. The history of Clambake has different interpretations by each person, so use your own judgement. Share these facts with friends at a celebration.
