More and more these days, many a class reunion is having a costume party as either the main event or a side event during a weekend of activities taking place as a part of the class reunion. Coming up with the perfect class reunion costume, then, should be looked at as a fun activity, above all else. For what it's worth, given that most any class reunion is themed around some significant era or style from when that class was in school, it'll generally be possible to make up some sort of homemade costume fairly easily.

The first thing to find out, when it comes to a costume for any class reunion, is what the theme of the party is going to be, of course. Common themes, depending on the year in which the class graduated, come from the disco era, the “Big 80s” or some other time when music and fashion particularly stood out in the memories of most people within the class. Just start digging in the closet, first of all, because there's a good chance that a few articles of clothing from that time might still be sitting in a box or a garment bag, unlamented though not forgotten, at least.

Depending on the theme, though, especially if it's going to be something more historical in nature, such as the Roaring 20s flapperor even the Old West, it'll be a bit more difficult to find common pieces to assemble into a homemade costume. In that case, look online for either the right pattern and piece lists or start raiding local thrift stores or second-hand shops because the chances are good that clothing items that at least resemble clothing or costume pieces from that era can be pieced together.
