Cocktail COOKIES

Molasses crisps are a great cookie to bake for a homemade cocktail party cookie. It’s a simple recipe with just a few ingredients, and your guests will love them.

for your homemade cocktail party cookies you will need ¼ cup of shortening, ½ cup of sugar, ¾ cup of molasses, one cup of flour, and ¾ of a teaspoon of salt. First melt the shortening in a small saucepan. Then add the sugar and molasses and bring them all to a boil. Cool the mixture slightly. Then add the flour and salt.

Your homemade cocktail party cookies are drop cookies, so the consistency will be firm. Drop the dough onto a greased baking sheet by teaspoons. You may also use a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to keep the cookies from sticking. Bake them in a moderate oven at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Then, while they are warm, turn them around your finger to form a roll. This recipe should yield about 36 cookies.

You can add more molasses to your homemade cocktail party cookies to make them more tangy. And you might consider coating them with dark chocolate for a more decadent dessert. Try topping them with powdered sugar, as well. Or, you can try the chocolate coating and the powdered sugar on top of that. The variations are endless, so you might want to give your guests a choice of three different ones.
