Handmade Cocktail Pinatas

What is more appropriate then a cocktail piñata for a cocktail party. Sure, piñata are not generally associated with cocktail parties but perhaps a change is needed. Guests might want to let their inner child come out and enjoy smashing piñata for the candy inside. To make a cocktail piñata cut out the shape of the desired glass from cardboard – perhaps a martini glass. Cut to cut outs from cardboard, place small balloons in between the cutouts, and tape securely. Once the balloons are in place apply the paper mache mixture on the cardboard covering it entirely. Cut out a small section at the top of the glass to insert the candy and reapply the paper mache. Since this is a cocktail party use alcohol and liqueur flavored cordials as fillings. Use the top of the glass for the candy because the bottom might be too small. Once the paper mache has fully dry use tissue paper to color in the glass. Choose a desired color for the martini color. To add some realism, include an olive in the glass as well with other fruits. Draw the olive and additional details first before applying the tissue paper so mistakes are eliminated. Give each part guest a turn to smack open the piñata. Blindfold and spin each guests several times and let the fun commence. Why should children have all the piñata fun when adults can enjoy a piñata for themselves as well?
