The Blues Brothers is a classic movie for your party that has gone down in history, and will continue to be remembered, probably for the rest of time. It is such an iconic film that people dress up as the Blues Brothers, sing their songs, play their instruments and so on. But this movie fits in with your construction theme because of some of the setting in the film. There's a chase through an abandoned mall – a real life abandoned mall. The mall has been abandoned for some time and provides many structural features and talking points, especially as to how the mall was left to decay and rot without a single thought. It would be a great idea to get a discussion about this and find out what other guests think of leaving a structure like that.

Another movie for your party like this is Session 9. While this is a psychological thriller, it is set in an abandoned mental asylum in America. Again, this film gives plenty of opportunities for a good talk about structural decay or construction of the building. The film itself is constantly changing rooms and scenes, so it's easy to pick up on new things to talk about.
