We all know Curious Georges best friend is the man with the yellow hat. This craft will show children how to make a hat like the man in the yellow hat has.

What You Will Need

• News Paper
• Masking Tape
• Yellow paint
Before you begin, you will need to make sure you have enough supplies for each child. Each child will require 3 pieces of newspaper. First, you will place the 3 pieces of newspaper over the child’s head. A person needs to hold the newspaper snug against the child’s head while another person goes around it with masking tape. The tape should run from the lower forehead, just above the ears and around the back part of the head. Run it around a second time for two layers.

Take the longer parts of the newspaper and bring it up toward the center of the hat and tape it there. You can form the brim on the hat round or any other way the child wants to. Tape it in place.

After you have your hat made, you are ready to paint it yellow. You can have other colors available if you choose so the kids can decorate them and make them unique. Curious George stickers are also a favorite. Leave about 2 hours drying time. It would be a great way to kick off the party.
