Dance COOKIES

Homemade dance theme cookies should be exciting to eat and have something chocolate in them. A simple chocolate fudge thumbprint cookie might be just the right choice.

You will be using one cup of butter, which is two sticks, along with ¾ cup of brown sugar, a teaspoon of vanilla, ½ cup of light corn syrup, an egg, 3 ½ cups of flour, ½ teaspoon of salt, and two cups of finely chopped walnuts or other nut of your choice. This is all for the cookie.

For the frosting of your homemade dance theme cookies, you will need 1/3 cup of additional light corn syrup and 1 ½ cups of semisweet chocolate chips. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Mix the butter, brown sugar and vanilla with a mixer at medium speed until it is smooth. Beat in the light corn syrup and add the egg. Add three cups of the flour and salt until it is all blended in. Hold off on adding the additional ½ cup of flour unless the dough is not firm enough to roll into balls. Roll the dough into one inch balls, roll in the walnuts to coat the cookie balls, and place them two inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Press your thumb into the center of each cookie to make a deep indentation in each of them. This will be for the chocolate filling.

To make the filling for your homemade dance theme cookies justs heat up the light corn syrup in the microwave for approximately one minute. Add the chocolate chips and stir in to melt them thoroughly. Put this soft mixture into a pastry bag, or use a plastic freezer bag by sealing it tightly and snipping off a tiny corner at the bottom of the bag. Squeeze the chocolate filling into the thumbprint holes, then back for 10 to 12 minutes or until the cookies are firm. Remove them to a wire rack and cool them completely for the coolest cookies at the dance party!
