Homemade Daytona 500 Party Game

For the Daytona 500 theme party create a homemade game fans of NASCAR and racing in general will love. To create a Daytona 500 game draw a track on a large piece of white cardboard. Decorate the cardboard with markers and/or paint. Cut out pictures of NASCAR racecars and place tape on the back of them (use racecars as game pieces as well). Have children draw their own NASCAR cars with crayons and markers on construction paper. Lay the cardboard track on a large table or hang on the wall. Inside the racetrack, divide the track into numbered sections such as 1-100. Dice will be needed to move the cars to the numbered spaces. If the dice rolls a 8 then the car, which rolled a 8 moves 8 spaces forward and so on. To make the game more interesting add a pit stop, blown tire, out of gas etc. The player who lands on such squares misses his or her turn next time around. Select a desired number of laps around the track and the player who crosses the finish line first is the winner.
