Disney Cars Costume

To create a homemade Disney Cars costume of “Lightning McQueen,” it might be somewhat of a challenge. But the end results will make your little boy very happy. Or you might want to try a Boogie Bugle Babe costume.

A cardboard box that is large enough to put a hole in to fit over his head and body will be needed. Once the basic square car shape is cut out to fit on the child, the rest of the design will be in the painting of the character of the Disney Car. Find a picture of the character, and be sure to have plenty of the right color paint on hand. Large tubes of acrylic paint might be best, as this type of paint washes off your hands with soap and water.

Just copy the facial expression of the character, making sure that the mouth smiles, and the eyes are huge.

As far as the wheels are concerned, it might be easier to cut out round wheels from additional cardboard, paint them, and then glue or staple them onto the handmade Disney Cars costume. Or try an Instant Nerd Kit .

To keep the car from falling off the child, use thick elastic straps that are stapled onto the homemade Disney Car. These can be worn like suspenders to keep the car up, and the child’s arms can be free.

Since Lightning McQueen is red, it might be a good idea to top it off with a red baseball cap on the child. And in order to not take away from the costume, have the child wear plain, black jeans, and a white long-sleeved tee-shirt or turtleneck.
