Dora the Explorer will offer a different perspective to its history considering what surrounded its creation. Valerie Walsh and Eric Weiner created the pilot episode for the series that debuted in 1999. While the show is carried on Nickelodeon cable it also has produced a long line of video series that can allow any child to go exploring with Dora. It also aired on CBS right up until September of 2006. Additionally, a Spanish version is also shown on Nick en espanol on the NBC owned Telemundo.
The history of Dora is that she is a young girl who has to take a trip on every episode so that she can find or help someone somewhere. She always encourages and ask her viewers to assist her in finding the lost person she seeks. In addition, she also teaches non Spanish speakers a variety of short words and phrases to learn in Spanish. Dora makes it obvious she values her family and friends and always goes out of her way to assist them in any journeys they need to embark on, once again inviting viewers to help her to help them find their way.
Dora the Explorers history also includes the introduction of a couple of her famous friends including Boots. She also enjoys a variety of sports such as the baseball team she plays on with Boots. Dora explorations have also been created into interactive children's books to help to teach them basic geography and other important information in early learning.
