Earth day is a day to honor planet and there is no better way to do this than create some homemade cookies that are easy on our environment. These are fun and easy to create for kids and, while they are baking allow the kids to sit back and color some earth day themed color sheets as well.

One of the best homemade cookies to make to honor Earth Day would have to be Mudpie cookies. To begin one needs to assemble the following; 2 C sugar, 2 tbsp. cocoa, C milk, C butter, C peanut butter, 2 C oatmeal, and 1 tsp. Vanilla.

To begin making these yummy homemade cookies take and mix the sugar and cocoa into a bowl. Next, take and stir in the milk. If a child is creating these cookies this next step will take an adult; take and place the mix into a pan and add butter and place onto stove to cook. Once the mix has come to a full boil allow to cook for 2 minutes but be sure that one is stirring constantly to prevent burning.

Take the homemade cookie mix of the stove and blend in the remainder of the ingredients. Once this is done with an adults help the children can take rounded spoonfuls of the mix and place them onto waxed paper. Allow them to cool and enjoy. The child will feel extra special because they will not only be helping the planet but, they also helped to make them as well.
