It just wouldn’t be an Easter party without some tasty, beautiful homemade cookies. For while chocolate bunnies are the signature treat at the majority of Easter festivities, some delicious baked cookies will also win a special place in the hearts of young guests.
When preparing homemade cookies for an Easter party, the host could make some basic, shortbread-style cookies in the shape of symbols that will remind guests of this timeless sacred holiday. These could include Easter eggs, whimsical bunnies, spring flowers and baskets, and—if the party is particularly spiritual in theme—crosses.
The host can adorn homemade cookies for an Easter fest with icing (either whipped or butter cream), edible food sparkles or food coloring, preferably in light, delicate, theme-appropriate hues such as pink, gold and lavender. For additional decorating possibilities, she could slather the Easter bunny cookies with thick chocolate icing (to liken an Easter bunny) and adorn the ‘egg’ cookies with vibrant stripes, polka dots and shapes, so that it resembles a brightly painted holiday egg.
Guests will quite literally gobble up these Easter-themed homemade cookies; and they might also enjoy some festive holiday Coloring Pages. These Coloring Pages could come adorned with vibrant images of decorated eggs, springtime scenes complete with flowers that include orchids, lilies and carnations, and—of course—the Easter Bunny himself. Guests will greatly enjoy applying their crayons to these fun Coloring Pages—but perhaps not quite as much as they will gobbling up those elegant and oh so edible Easter cookies!
