Easter Sunday is a religious holiday that celebrates spring, as well, so the conversation can be focused on the delights of the season. The pastel shades used for decorating for this holiday are pleasing to the eye, and they may also be seen in clothing for the special day.

Easter bonnets and the Easter parade are no longer talked about, but maybe they should be. There was a time when all women wore bonnets on this religious holiday. The church pews were lined with glorious hats that had been saved just for this occasion. The women looked wonderful with their Easter dresses that matched their lovely Easter bonnets. The men could also be found wearing their Sunday best. These times are long gone in most places, but they could still be talked about fondly.

Even though epic movies like “King of Kings” and “The Ten Commandments” just touch on Easter and are not solely about Easter, per se, these are fantastic films that can be watched over and over again. Perhaps this is why they are shown on television during this holiday season. The talk of the fabulous outfits worn by the women in The Ten Commandments is certainly something to talk about. This was a time when Egypt was exciting, and the royalty wore lots of gold and gems. It certainly makes for interesting conversation for this religious occasion. And, of course, the story about Jesus rising again from the dead is the whole reason for Easter. Discussion of this with the children at the gathering would be great, after their Easter egg hunt, that is.
