Creative Eighties Invitation Ideas
Get creative with the invitations to your Eighties themed party. Consider making invites that look like Rubik Cubes with the party information on the back. These can be hand done using markers or printed out. Try using invites with a Pac-Man cutout on them. You could list some of the favorite music from the eighties along with the artists that made them famous on the front of a piece of card stock or poster board and put the party invitation on the back.

What To Say in the Invitations
Once you have the type and style of invite that you want , now it is time for the wording. You want it to be full of slang from the 1980s. Use a lot of “awesome” and totally awesome”. Do not forget to say “excellent” a time or two. Always put the time, date and location. Something like” Dude, it would be totally awesome to have you come to a most excellent party on June 6th, at 7:30 pm, at my house at 684 Wilson Road”. Eighties parties are often costume parties. It may take a little while to get a costume together, be sure to let guests know on the invitation if they should come in costume.

When To Mail the Invitations
Once you have the wording just the way you want it, move on to mailing out the invites. For a fun informal, party two to three weeks in advance in fine. If your eighties party is a costume party, then consider giving the guests a little extra time by mailing out the invites three to four weeks in advance.
