Engagement Party Conversation Ideas

An engagement party is a time for celebration. It is a time when many family members and friends get together to congratulate a man and a woman on their engagement to get married. Often times this is accompanied by a large event that involves food, drinks and music. During an engagement party, there will also be talking about memories and the couple in general.

Communication among guests travels in different ways. There will be some guests who group together and talk while there will be those people who travel around to the guests of the engagement party and talk with everyone they come in contact with. No matter what style of guest they are, there are always things you can do in order to bring the groups together.

Memories are what everyone will know and what everyone will expect to hear. It is how the couple came to be who they are as individuals and how they are together. A fun way to get everyone in the same conversation is to play a fun game. First, set the couple in the center of the group. Guests can sit on chairs surrounding the couple in a circle, or, they can sit out in front so their backs are not turned to anyone.

Give everyone a blank card and have them write down a question for the couple. For example, a question might be when their first kiss was. Then, all the cards will be handed to the couple and they will grab one at a time answering them. It is a fun way to start conversations and open up dialog between the couple and the guests.
