Timmy Turner has his place in history as being the boy from the series The Fairly OddParents. This ten year old boy who resides in the town of Dimmsdale with his own slightly dim witted parents finds that his life is almost constantly and consistently miserable. This cartoon series began as cartoon segments that were first aired in September of 1998 until March of 2001. Although Timmy's life seems inherently miserable he is granted the wonders of fairy godparents who are named Wanda and Cosmo.
This popular shows history has been built on the Nickelodeon network for quite a few years. An additional television series was also purchased from outside of the United States by a Canadian animation company. This show has made a place as the third longest running cartoon known as Nicktoons, falling in only behind the Rugrats and Spongebob Squarepants.
Timmy may have gained some of his history of empathy due to the fact that he has a torturous babysitter who seems to enjoy making his life yet even more miserable, and the wish he was granted by his godparents went awry when he wished for something that resulted in a hefty disaster, so his godparents are out to unwish his disastrous choice. Timmy is famous for making more enemies as he goes along but also meets some surprisingly understanding folks such as his teacher who also believes in fairy godparents. His adventures can tug on the spirit of any child who has felt a bit out of place or miserable in new surroundings such as a new school.
