A handmade Fathers Day piñata might be a giant golf ball, or a baseball, or other ball that your father might enjoy. So, choose his favorite sport and apply it here.
To make your own handmade Fathers Day piñata will be easy. You will just need a balloon, paints, flour, water, hand-shredded newspaper, and maybe some crepe paper. Blow up the balloon until it is round and firm. Then mix the flour and water together until you have a paste. Dip the newspaper shreds into the paste and apply them to the balloon. Cover the balloon with the pasty newspaper, except for a hole at the top. You will be adding the candy into this hole later. When the entire balloon is covered, except for that hole at the top, pop the balloon and pull it out of the inside of the piñata. Now you’re ready to decorate it.
Paint it the appropriate color of the ball that you have chosen. You can make it fancier by adding the same colored crepe paper in shreds, so that it hangs and blows in the wind, if you like. When the decorating is done, the fun begins!
Now is the time to fill your homemade Fathers Day piñata with candy and other goodies that the kids, as well as Dad, might enjoy. Then use a strong, thin rope, or heavy duty string to attach to the piñata and hang it up. If the party’s outside, hang it from the branch of a tree, so that the kids can reach it, and watch the fun begin!
