Everyone knows the fifties; they were the decade of poodle skirts and leather jackets. There have been popular TV shows and movies that have taken us into the hot rod, hair combing bubble gum popping fifties. So, if you decide to put on a poodle shirt with ankle socks, saddle shoes and a ponytail or a little bow on one side of your hair everyone will recognize what you are representing. The same is true for blue jeans, a white t-shirt, a leather jacket and the ever present hair comb. Now, if you have a small portable CD player and a fifties CD, you can turn it on just before you ring the door bell and your guest will open the door into a time machine that is the fifties, music and all.

What To Say in the Thank You Notes
People are busy, with work and responsibilities so if they come to a party it is because they cleared their schedules and made time to be there. You want to let your guests know how much it meant to you that they came and the fun that you all had together. Throw in a few fifties terms like “Hey cat, that party was a blast with you making the scene”.

When To Mail the Thank You Notes
Mail the thank you notes within a week of the party. One way to do that is to get the thank you notes ahead of time. That way you can sit down a day or two after the party and write a line or two to each guest. Make your thank you notes personal and sincere, not just a standard” glad you came”. If one week just will not work then two weeks later is acceptable.
