First Communion COOKIES

A child’s first communion is a receipt of the sacrament of the Holy Communion within the Catholic Church, and what better way to do that is the cross shaped or a fortune scripture, homemade cookies. The cookie cutters for the cross cookies can be found in any religious store in your area.

To begin making the unique cross shaped cookie, one will need their favorite cookie dough batter rolled out to cut out the crosses. Once the crosses are cut, carefully transfer them to a cookie sheet. One great way to achieve this would be to use a pancake turner. Once the cookies are baked and cooled, one can frost the cookies with white frosting and with black piping frostings one can add the child’s name and the date of their communion onto the cookie.

If the person that is creating the cookies happens to be great in the kitchen, they can create homemade scripture cookies as well. These unique cookies follow the same pattern as the fortune cookie but, instead of placing the fortune inside, one will place a scripture inside instead. These unique cookies will not only work great as finger food at the party, but as a party favor as well.
