Homemade
First Communion Costume
Nowadays, more and more people are having some sort of costume theme party after a First Communion event -- either by their children or even (in the case of adults) when they themselves have taken the sacrament of communion for the first time. A nice party afterward; complete with costumes, themes and the like, can be a great way for one to celebrate a First Communion, as a matter of fact. Generally speaking, though, most such costumes are usually related to some sort of Bible or other religious-in-nature figure.
For example, once a person has taken First Communion and a party is going to be held, many parents or adults who have taken communion themselves opt for a theme revolving around historical Bible figures such as John the Baptist or one of the three wise men, for example. In truth, most such First Communion related theme party costumes can be homemade, even. To make such a costume, a parent or adult only need look around for common items such as flannel sheets (usually white in color), red table cloths or other sheets (for a sash) and a walking stick that can be used as a staff.
When it comes to First Communion theme party ideas for a costume, consider as well anything to do with general Holy Land region peoples and what they might have dressed like during that era. Shepherds, merchants or fishermen all make for good costume templates, it must be said. Some items for such a homemade costume can be found readily enough while others may require a visit to an arts and crafts store for headdresses or netting that can be slung over the shoulder, in the case of a fisherman.
