First Communion PARTY CRAFT IDEAS

Creating a scrapbook for First Communion is always a good idea. Here is a unique way to spin off that idea that is inexpensive and easy.

Buy good quality white envelopes from a stationary store. Using a hole punch and white ribbon, you can make a cover using stamping, a computer printer, or fabric covered poster board cut to the same size as your envelopes. You can even put a photograph of the person for whom the gift is intended on the cover, if you wish. Then create a book from the envelopes. Enlist the aid of cherished wise friends and family members by getting them to write on card stock favorite tips, scripture, prayers, or advice, and sticking it inside the envelopes. Just put the name of the person on each envelope, and these bits of wisdom and memory can be easily accessed over the years.

Create a photo scrapbook for first communion by borrowing photographs of very close friends and family members and making copies of them. Make a cover, or use a purchased white photo album to create a scrapbook in which bits of advice, wishes, memories, scripture, or favorite prayers may be attached and kept over the years. Be sure to include photographs of the first communion of family members no longer with us, and if no one knows that family member's favorites, simply include some information and a few memories about this person.

**Tip: especially if using full sized photo albums, using plain paper instead of photo paper works very well for this first communion project.
