Handmade Glee Pinatas

Get ready for Glee! If your family loves Glee, they'll love this homemade Glee pinata. The characters of the show are lovable, talented, and now you can make them a part of your next celebration!

This pinata takes two to four days to make, depending on the overall drying time. To make it, you'll need:

Two to three-inch strips of newspaper (torn along the grain)
A bowl of liquid starch (or, one part glue or flour to two parts water)
A mold such as a hatbox or cereal box
Masking tape
Scissors
Craft knife
Craft glue

First, cover your workspace with a protective covering to guard against spills. Dip a piece of newspaper in the liquid mixture, remove the excess, then smooth it onto your mold. Repeat this process until you have a layer of paper mache, leaving a gap in the top for the candy. Allow this to dry for a day or two. Then, cover with another layer of wet paper mache. Allow this to dry as well.

Now you need to remove the mold. Cut the paper mache into two equal parts with the craft knife. Remove the mold, and tape the two pieces back together using the masking tape.

Print out your favorite Glee graphic on your computer or at a printing store. Cut it out to the size and shape of the pinata and glue it on. The decorate the pinata with the ribbon One idea is to curl the ribbon with the scissors and then glue it to the pinata for a decorative look.

After all is said and done, you should have a great homemade Glee pinata for your party guests to enjoy. Just fill it with candy, string it up, and have fun!
