Consider making cutouts the size of old 45 records out of black poster board. Cut smaller circles out of different color poster board and glue them to the center of the larger black circles. Next, write the guest’s name and the title of a Golden Oldies song. If you really want an extra special personalized Golden Oldies invite, get old 45 records and slip them in a large envelope with the poster board record.

What To Say in the Invitations
Invitations should always give the guests the basic information; time, date, and location. Since this is a themed party, let them know the theme and tell them if it is a costume party or not. If it is more of a get-together and the guests should bring something or chip in on the cost of food, the invitation should be very clear on that point. It is very important to know how many guests plan to come so put a RSVP on the invitations and give a reply date. Also add contact information, more than the return address on the envelope. Put your phone number and / or email address on the invite. That will allow guests to get in touch with you quickly.

When To Mail the Invitations
Always give guests enough time to RSVP your invite. Mail the invitations at least two to three weeks in advance of the party. If it will be held during a busy party season then go for the three weeks. You don't want guests to forget and you don't want to send the invitations so late that they already have plans.
