Handmade Golden Oldies Party Favors

For the next Golden Oldies themed party, why not create homemade party favors that are golden in look and tasty too! Handmade doughnuts are an easy party favor to make and are so good that guests will be calling for the recipe once they get them home.

The ingredients are few:

Refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
A milk cap
¼ - ½ inch deep of vegetable oil in a frying pan

Get the oil up to 375 degrees. While this is reaching temperature, separate the biscuit pieces from the roll. Once they are laid out, simply take the milk cap and punch a hold right through the center of them. Do not throw away the middle, as these can be used as doughnut holes.

Next, place these handmade party favors into the oil and let fry for about 30 seconds or so. It does not take long, so keep an eye on it. The doughnut holes take even shorter of a time. Once they are done, take them out and place them on a couple sheets of paper towels to drain the excess oil out of the doughnut.

Top of the doughnuts with yummy things like cinnamon and sugar, icing, fruit glaze, chocolate or anything else really!

To add an extra special touch to the handmade party favors, be sure to put them in a nice bag with some ribbon. Mix the doughnut holes with the doughnuts in the bag. If using a glaze of some sort, it might be best to use a flat box so they do not make a mess.
