Good Luck COOKIES

Homemade cookies are a great way to wish someone good luck. There are a variety of different types of good luck cookies for a variety of different occasions. However, nothing says good luck like a fortune cookie. This unique cookie is a fun and whimsical way to wish a loved one or co-worker good luck on any venture they may be undertaking.

To begin creating these homemade fortune cookies one will need to assemble the following supplies and ingredients; computer paper for the fortunes, cookie sheet, parchment paper, mixer, cooking spray, 2 egg whites, ½ cup flour, ½ cup sugar, 1 tsp. almond extract, 2 tsp. water, and, a pinch of salt.

Once the supplies and ingredients have been gathered for the homemade fortune cookie, begin by preparing your fortunes. These can both be handwritten or typed, and then simply cut them into strips to place inside the cookie. If they are wishing a co-worker good luck on a new promotion for example you can put things such as; way to go, far out, you deserved it etc.

The next step in preparing the homemade fortune cookies would be to preheat the oven to 400 degrees and prepare your cookie sheet with the parchment paper and cooking spray. Once this is done, set the cookie sheet aside.

Now it’s time to prepare the batter for the homemade fortune cookie. Take the egg whites and beat them with the mixer until they are creamy. Then, add the rest of the ingredients excluding the water, and mix until it is well combined. Now, slowly add the water until the batter is thin.

Take the homemade fortune cookie dough and place it onto the prepared cookie sheet and bake. To do this, take the batter and spoon the dough onto the sheet a tablespoon at a time. Once this is done, take the back of the spoon and simply spread the dough into a circle that is about 4 inches across. Place into prepared oven and bake for 8 minutes.

Finally, take your homemade fortunes that you made for the homemade cookies and place them into the center of the circle. Then, take and fold the circle in half, then half again being sure that one is bringing the points of the half circle together.
